If You're With Me

Image
So, this is what the lover would do when his love is with him. Cheers to those sparks and the electricity.

STILL

Image
When a lover promises, worlds may end, but love never dies. Hope you like this one! "Withering in all Ifs, Buts and Maybes, I miss you. And I love you. Still."

Kiss

Image
This is one try at a sensuous note. Hope it pleases you all, and reminds you of soothing moments in your life. " Kiss " Her breath lingered of moon dust and restrained voices. His echoed of years of earth, wait and turmoil. They both felt like flame, the kind that set houses and forests on fire. Their lips moved on a dance of passion and desire. As their silent lips serenaded each other in a mixed brew of self-restraint and uncaged feelings, they only thought of their pasts, and not of whose mouth connected to their own. He heard his ex's cold gestures, like torture drilling into his heart. Personable promises rolled out off her sugar lips but the undertones carried unconditional silence and sourness. So, he continued drowning his fears and desires in the addicting drink of her lips. She saw her flesh heat, and sharp questions digging themselves into the web of her mind. Years of deceit, should or should not - they fought but finally her heart paved way. Their supple...

Poem: In Thought and Soul

Image
Go far away, ye forsaken hours, Nor do I need thy cares, o world, Sun and season, set me free, I have frolic love in my midst, and that's enough for the whilst. All over and around in my voyage, Have I countered a hundred maidens But ye, on knowing, I rest my feet. Charming to folks, bathed in moon, yet thou are robed with eternal grace. Weaving tales, thine eyes enchant me And voice, fairer than countless fairies, My heart arrests at thy furtive glances. I speak true, that from thereafter, I have become ye, in thought and soul.

Ride

Streets were his love. He loved to roam around, observe people, sit by the tea joints and listen to people ranting. He didn't meddle in anybody's affairs. That day, he was walking on the street, when he suddenly saw a little girl and a boy - probably siblings - play around. They were talking about a recent story their grandma had told them. He tried to listen to their voices - young and full of grandeur. "My dad likes to ride like a hero. No one can drive faster," the boy said. The girl continued, "When we go back home, we need to talk to our mom. She never replies back." "Idiot, mom lives in a photo, I don't know if she'd ever talk. We should tell her what granny said. Maybe then, she will talk back," the boy said. He was listening to them intently. His attention was disturbed by a big crash. A trailer was parked just next to where the kids were playing on the road. A car was speeding down the road - the driver was probably off-balanced -...

Short poem: Pale Blue Sea

Image
I lie upon the sands, by the pale blue sea. Idle thoughts whisper of life, years and death. Is that a mystic voice or a ghost in my mind, Or is it the pale blue sea that murmurs in my heart?

Dawn

Image
Silent dreams and a sea of fireflies, tread beneath the aubergine skies, Silhouette cast from elder trees they shroud the charcoal streams, Saffron cuts into the hills abreast like ignited tides of passioned crime, Showering paths with glee, and hope and rays of possibility that's the dawn.

Twilight

Image
I keep looking in the night stars I long something from morning rays I go shouting at the afternoon winds And I stop at twilight's fall Deep and then deeper blue the sky I keep looking at her, loving, As time becomes sedate and pearl Somewhere an old piano plays, adorns the air with beautiful notes She's dainty, impassioned and embracing all at once, with unforgettable flair All I wish is to stop time, for more I live to the next day when twilight falls and the old piano plays, yet again...

The Sheriff

Image
"Why won't you love me," I said, "I am the Sheriff, I save this village from goons. I let your little bastards grow up and become able workers in the county! I look at your filthy ladies with all the respect I can muster! Why won't you love me, then?" "Dear Sir," the headmaster put up a conniving smile and answered, "You take us in care which is good but that's all you do! Unlike the old man over there. Treating every visitor from his barrels some good ol' malt! Spreading love and good knowledge of the 21st century among those little bastards you despise! Helping ladies burn their midnight lamps and learn knitting, or nursing or some useful chore!" He said, "That old man you disrespect so much has a big heart," and then he asked, "Do you have a big heart, sir?" I was appalled at the extent this man looked up to the old man. "That man has wasted his good age in serving unworthy fellows like you, but I....

The Creeper

“Who builds a big house with such a small door that’s hidden behind a vine?” Said Anushka to her friend, her business-cum-travel partner. Their cycle trip had been broken short by sudden rains. Having business matters to discuss, they had hitched their bikes, walked up to the house and sat on the porch to talk. They talked of their business affairs until it grew almost dark. The evening was oppressively warm, the air stagnant. About seventy miles from Delhi, on the road leading to Alwar, stood an old house that was last occupied by a family named Parihar . Since more than a hundred years no one has lived in it, nor is anyone likely to live in it again. Time and the negligence of persons dwelling around have converted it into a rather picturesque ruin. Unacquainted with history, any tourist would put it into the category of "haunted houses,” Its windows are without glass, its doorways without doors and there are wide cracks in the ceiling. But these signs of the supernatur...

If ever my song is lonely.

Image
If, ever, my song is lonely larking upon pale, beaten fields under the cluttered clouds and the note echo unanswered promise, that you'll be by me and we'll fly along together to sundry highs and starry skies waking to each other's glances everyday, with the coming sun

Wish for a Dear Friend

Image
Thou art grown to something more Of all women, fairest to behold, Because 'tis the night you're born Shall I compare thee to a summer's day, Or the stony skies of wintry nights, Thou art more lovely and more temperate Like red glow of gold beside grey silver, Or the enchanting lavender in the moors So I wish for you all of heaven's grace God's praise, unmatched beauty and solace!

Me, Unplugged.

I am here to make the best of friends! There are a lot of good-intentioned as well as misled conceptions about me in my whole circle. I am different, the way I think, act and respond. There's a lot of persons I want to answer to and this is just the platform for me! So here you go! 'Me' unplugged. I am rather calm in my behavior. I am a dreamer as well. My imagination often results in over-the-top expectations! Don't expect too much discipline and daredevilry from me as I prefer quality talks and evening walks to dancing and partying. I can bet that my wisdom and generosity is what you'll look up to in every situation. I am earthy, a very loyal friend, with a good rational thinking and great understanding. Sometimes you may feel, to you, I am too reserved in nature. This is because I often build a wall around me. So, breaking that wall would be tad difficult for you. There are times when I prefer solitude. In that case, it'd be better if I am left alone. I have...

Let Love Color Up Your Life.

Image
So here's a post after a long time. My literary capabilities have receded greatly, thanks to some pressure writing in marketing and company blogs. Anyways, here's a short, silly and sweet ballad for you all. Read it with love!                             Don't you see the sun that keeps shining? The cool moon, every day, reciprocating? Don't you see the sea pushing to the shores? Or lovely printed red on Valentine stores? Don't you see the stars shining on the sky? Or pleasant rains showering from up high? Don't you know they do it for a reason? That to live, laugh and love, its the season! Don't wake up and go about doing the same, Don't cheat you, in living upto the name! Go out, let your heart do the beating! Pick any moment and just start singing! Don't refuse at love and slowly walk away. Love's limited - you won't get another way!

Let's just go somewhere

Image
Let's just go somewhere, Where the dreams are free, Where the blind can see, Where we can smell the rain, Where love's the only chain, Where wishes don't go in vain, With the shoulders to lean on, We got a reason to live on, Where you talk in stupidity, And you laugh with fluidity, Where smiles are warm, Where words don't harm, Where hearts have desire, And we live off the wire, Where its us that counts, And only true joy mounts, Where stones have feelings, There's life and no meanings.

We Are All Cowards

Image
Today, is the Independence Day. Many schools have already celebrated the day with a cliched finesse, a day before, so that the wealthy parents, the Oh! so hardworking teachers and the busy staff could have a day, or better, a long weekend off. Those who could get out of their houses, no, they didn't go to some I-Day function or flag hoisting, they went, in huge numbers, to the premier of Singham Returns, Rohit Shetty's mix-and-match recipe for a blockbuster hit. Those who stayed home, they didn't see the Prime Minister Modi giving his I-Day oratory on the television, but they did manage to see the just released trailer of Shahrukh Khan's, err.. King Khan's Happy New Year. And the rest of us have probably started for a long holiday. Yes, Today is the 68th Independence Day in India. And we people have become independent. No, I was not referring to the Boston bombings or gruesome tale of Israel-Gaza. I am questioning the self-proclaimed Indians, what has become of ...

The Basket of If's

Image
If Life had more than its fairer share, I could for you even more care, If Chance had seen an even greater sway, We could live in our own way, If Love had seen a light's ray, I could love you for ever and one more day, If God had so much a few times to spare, He could look and be awed by a friendship so rare.

The Toughest Task For Narendra Modi

Image
While a commoner like me sees #NarendraModi as the man with a magic wand for every problem, the challenge is now upon him to deliver on expectations. But foremost, he should clearly commit to curb the pseudo-religious extremism which his party and its more extreme wings, are accused of. He is quite forthcoming with comments in general, but on the occasion of such attacks which incite communal violence easily, his silence has been deafening. Now-a-days, going by the timely controversies our self-proclaimed preachers are setting up, its a pity how these learned people mire their followers in murky waters of baseless propaganda. If I had an ounce of belief in the zillion avatars of God, it would've been certainly no blasphemy in my reckoning to equate Jesus with every Durga, Ganesha, Jagannath, or Krishna. Multi layered styles of worship in Hinduism make it the most democratic and broad religion ever. The ranks of religion would be seriously depleted if seers followed such excommi...

Why There Is No Such Thing As #ModernTradition

Image
I am not going to lean back much on how "Tradition" started. As far as I understand, the beginning of Tradition were Language, and Power. These are two different things, with only one similarity - the inherent desire to express. Then words like "Faith", "Love", "God", and "Culture" were introduced for the simplicity, or, as I put it, for instilling an utter delirium in the minds of the masses so that wicked persons got to rule easily. Yeah, Traditions, Culture, Ideals - all of these were built on bloody layers of history. Any tradition is a system of learned and shared meanings. People learn and share things over the course of generations, and so we say this clan has such tradition. Now that we are back to the 21st century, ask yourself - Is there such thing as #ModernTradition? Everyone takes what he deems suitable to his lifestyle. And then coins it his tradition. And his generations follow. People have this habit of sucking up to ...

In Search Of Me

Image
Sometimes dire thoughts plague the mind. In such a fit of sheer loneliness and poetic dis-harmony I spun this one out. Do bear with bad lines if any. You are better than me, I thought me saying, And went out to find you, with no need of stopping. As far as life takes, round the earth’s each corner. To every land that bred the brave, sooner or later. As sun and moon and wind and trees and birds and Nature will share my road, with them will I find you. Are you hiding somewhere, and don't want be found? Hide till I get there, cos the world still goes round. Several bonds that you wore have landed you here I'll take them off, un-bond you, since now I care. They say me and you, are apparently all the same But different is your heart, far more lively and game. So come out, from the edges, the depths and crevices Embrace yourself, and look how the shadow vanishes.
