Love's Sweet Impression

I never was struck before that hour With love so sudden and so sweet. Her face it bloomed like a sweet flower  And stole my heart away complete.  My face turned pale, a deadly pale. My legs refused to walk away, And when she looked what could I ail My life and all seemed turned to clay.  And then my blood rushed to my face  And took my eyesight quite away. The trees and bushes round the place  Seemed midnight at noonday. I could not see a single thing, Words from my eyes did start. They spoke as chords do from the string, And blood burnt round my heart.  Are flowers the winter's choice Is love's bed always snow She seemed to hear my silent voice  Not love appeals to know. I never saw so sweet a face As that I stood before. My heart has left its dwelling place And can return no more.

Just Want To Walk Beside You

Whenever you are lonely... Whenever you are blue... Just want to walk beside you, And smell the sweet fresh dew. Just want to feel your heartbeat, Beating close to mine. Your arms wrapped tightly round mine, As you rest your head on mine. Listening to the stillness, As we stroll in the garden, The flutters beat like your heart, Telling me I can't want more... Than to always walk beside you, Clasp your tender hand in mine. I love you now, forever, And I will for all of time.

U, Me, aur Reliance - Part III. "The Rendezvous"

A group of balloons hoisted up the evening sky as I looked on down the snake-like path of the park. At a distance, few ragamuffins were intent on getting paid by a threesome of youths. They held on to a pretty girl's legs, and were literally clawing along when she was trying to heave them away. Couples were enjoying their time as they sat on those wooden benches and talked endlessly till nightfall. " No bench for us.." "Kya kare Pratik?" "Kahaan baithe?" We were walking together down a park for the first time. I was just looking for a dry place to sit on the lawn grass, but she asked this question. Why do people like to sit on the benches which are almost covered by the dark shadows of the nearby trees? I wonder, why aren't the benches put under the light? "Ghaas par nahi baith sakte kya?" Why did she hesitate to sit on the fine grass? Anyways, we sat on the grass near a yellow light post that, despite glowing boldly from amo

A Moment I won't forget..

Today my dearest friend gave me something in wishing me Best of Luck for the exams starting tomorrow. Not that nobody wishes me before the exams, but nobody ever had given me such a thing before. In our culture, palm leaf is considered auspicious, and she gave me a palm leaf manuscript with Lord Ganesh on one part and Best of Luck written over the second part. I was so happy the moment I saw it, I would treasure this thing for ages to come.

U, Me, aur Reliance - Part II

I hope all my readers are having a great time. The writing below discusses about the ongoing late night conversations between me and my new friend. Well, she's no more a new friend for me. It seems that she's been there for quite sometime now. We have become great buddies now. " Hello. Pratik. " " Hmm, say. So, how was your day? " Again that question. " It was. . You know na, Today I haven't read anything yaar. " Huh; I hadn't asked about studies. She had not read anything. She was worried. That meant she might talk less tonight. My brain started thinking of how to take this forward. " But you know, I have slept all the day, slept for 11 hours! " 11 hours. That meant I had a hope. She would not feel sleepy quickly, I thought. Anyways, my stupid talks bored most of the friends to sleep. " So gaye kya? Pratik? " I like it when I stay quite a couple of minutes and she asks the above question. "11 hours! Tha

U, Me, aur Reliance

With due apologies to my best buddies with whom I talked all through that night, I put forth my first real (albeit, a little funny) experience of what I thought must be a juicy slapstick long late night talk over the phone. Well, you guys check out for yourself. "Good Morning, Sweet Dreams!!!" This was how our 5 & a 1/2 hours late night telephonic conversation was going to end. It might have even ended before about 2 hours. But, " Ae let’s not go to sleep right now, we must watch the sun rising!" As Fate had its own way, my brain had to conjure up more bizzare lines to withstand all the crazy stuff put forward by them. " Chalo lets play Rapid Fire," she said. "Pratik, are you asleep again?" "No, no, let’s start. Don't worry, I would definitely sing." If only I had little more practice, I thought. All those years of being a spoilsport in my school came to my mind as she had already started singing. No more

The moment one gives close attention to any thing, even a blade of grass it becomes a mysterious, awesome, indescribably magnificent world in itself. ~ Miller, Henry ~

Misfit

My eyes traverse though the book and the clock strikes hard. and if I close my eyes and drift away, where would my thoughts take me. For at times it feels there is nowhere left to go; all my minds doors closed and locked tight; and if forced to venture outside my own realm; reality strikes that I simply don’t fit!

Quote for Today

“Being Indian is an attitude, a state of mind, a way of being in harmony with all things and all beings. It is allowing the heart to be the distributor of energy on this planet; to allow feelings and sensitivities to determine where energy goes; bringing aliveness up from the Earth and from the Sky, putting it in and giving it out from the heart.” - Brooke Medicine Eagle
