Love. Its never the end.

The bouquet of flowers she held in her hands was trembling along with the rest of her as she approached his tombstone. Her dead husband's. Tears already started to cascade down her face, and she sunk to the ground. She slowly reached out and placed the flowers in the empty vase, then lightly ran her hand over the engraving.

Far away, a figure was looking keenly towards her.

She moved closer to the tombstone and laid her head against it, then began to cry. Three years. Three years of silent promise that she had to keep going. Last time when his husband was alive, they were at the Cafe Coffee Day, and he was telling her something about misunderstandings. She didn't speak, he was aghast, and walked out. She realized her folly, and walked after him. The next moment he was run down by a truck on the road. Terror-struck, she had been senseless for 2 days.

She remembered her best friend trying to console her, "I had tried to make you understand, but.. Don't worry dear, Life is like that. You got to accept what it offers.." He took a long breath, "..and what it never offers."

Her eyes fell upon the figure looking at her. She stood up, and walked towards the figure. "Its been three years, dear. Do you remember, four years back, today?" She paused for a moment, took his hand, and said, "Come." They went to her home. Once or twice he had gazed at her when she was driving. Her eyes, tired and wet, still told a story, a story laid to rest three years back.

They reached her house. He remembered, the last time he had been here was during her marriage reception. He had looked into her eyes for a few questioning moments, and had walked out.

"Come in",she said. He nodded and walked after her, into her room. She stopped bedside her drawer. ‘Come here". He walked over as she unlocked the drawer open, and he was left shocked at what he saw. It had been only novels, a few years back, but now it was a drawer of chocolate wrappers, greetings, poems, key rings, and a set of old earrings.

Speechless, he looked into her eyes as tears came out of them. The tears didn't stop, but he took her hands in his, and they looked out of the window as the sweet voice of a koyal speared the silence, and the sun cut through the maple leaves and fell upon them.
